SEO Specialists in Sydney | Blogging Is All about Putting Your Thoughts onto A Screen, agree?
At first, the idea of blogging seems to be so easy. Get a domain, get a web host, install WordPress, start writing and it’s almost done- right? Wrong! There’s more to online writing than just putting your thoughts onto a screen.
At Get me traffic we are a team of SEO specialists, and we have seen it all, known some harsh lessons along the way and made my share of blogging mistakes. Which is a good thing right? Blogging does not mean simply sharing what comes to your mind. Many things must be known in prior, but it’s pretty hard to know what’s of real importance when there are so many lies to dodge. Some of which we’ve been told, and others were made up by ourselves.
The following post explores certain things I’ve learned to be true about writing online:
#1 Headlines aren’t everything
Most of you believe in the fact that headlines are everything. No matter how best is your article without a catchy headline, you will hear nothing but crickets.
This is momentarily correct, but do not do so at the cost of being true to yourself or your work. Best pieces are definitely going to be heard and shared regardless of a catchy headline. I myself have tried writing scalped SEO headline which drove click-through rates, but it didn’t last. Everyone will forget your optimised article just within a couple of months. The ones that last in the minds of your potential audience are the ones that you even don’t care about especially in terms of SEO optimisation. Do you know why? Because they are true, authentic and heartfelt pieces written with great passion.
Simply focus on creating the work you love, readers will come.
#2 Do Hit publish!
Many times we underestimate ourselves to a great extent. I came across many new bloggers who did write for a couple of months but without publishing a single word. I mean even if there are a hundred reasons to give up, they will find one reason to hold on. A professional can be termed as an amateur who never quits.
It doesn’t matter if no one reads your work in the beginning. Keep writing with passion and eventually, a lot of people will notice. Start writing and make sure you publish it! After all, pushing one button isn’t that bad and its way good than not publishing at all.
#3 Write Every day
Ineffective writing strategy won’t work anymore, it is advisable to write every day. By doing this you will learn two things:
First, practice makes the man perfect. You become a better professional pretty quick.
Second, once you form the habit of writing every day, you’ll be writing every day for a long time.
Conclusion
You never know until you try. Just ask the Cat in the Hat. Apart from this, blogging is a long-term investment, success doesn’t happen overnight. So do not expect any quick wins. It takes time for one to get indexed in search engines and get discovered by their target audience. If you wish to work with SEO Specialists who have seen the industry evolve.
